Fodera owners - strange smelling case?

Every Fodera case I have ever opened has stunk really really bad. I went to the NAMM show in 2007 with them and every bass we got in, had the nastiest funk coming from the case. Maybe that is their secret?
Thats where they get that stanky funk from!
Try keeping a fabric softening sheet (Bounce) in the case. Makes it smell real nice and fresh.
This works for cars too. Keep a sheet under your car seat.

Surely this is a pyschosomatic effect caused by spending $6000 on a bass?

No it's not
- I have friends who have made the same experience I need to please Fodera to make a new parfume like "Fodera's Dreams"

Mine did too, like chocolate. It was the bubinga I believe. I even had people at my church smell it and they said the same thing.
On topic now, If you want to try something that I KNOW will work, try this stuff called Xeolite or Zeolite, it's spelled both ways. It's a type of volcanic rock that sucks up any kind of odor. You can buy it at an all natural store or somewhere like that. My wife got me hooked on it and it's better than baking soda.
I bought a new Warwick hardcase the other day to ship my now sold Spector Zebop in! The case was brand new, still covered in plastic, but it reeked of fish!
After all it is a bass.
I've got a hard case for my Michael Kelly, and its smell is surprisingly close to carrots pulled fresh from the garden... it's a little unnerving, but really not too bad.
My case is 43 years old and smells like Stale Cigarette Smoke from being in Bars and closed up rehearsal spaces : )
