Fodera SD vs. Aero

Seems like we are interested or have experience in the same topics
I've played many Fodera's similarly spec'd but with seymours versus Aero's.
It's hard to identify consistent differences, and I've never seen a thread discussing this where there was any kind of agreement.
From my experience, the Seymours and Aero's in dual coil mode are very, very similar sounding. However, when switched to single coil, the Aero's are more vintage and warmer, whereas the Seymours are very aggressive and grindy.
If you are considering a Fodera, IMO, if you are a slapper at all, it would be the Seymours all the way. If not, either would be OK, but the Aero's sound a little warmer and fatter.

No, it has bass, treble and mid cut and boost, like the Ag Ob-3, for example. It also has a very nice passive tone control, a very useful standby switch (on/off), and if you have a dual coil model, it has a single coil/dual coil switch, and finally an active passive switch.
It's a nice, quiet, somewhat mellow sounding circuit... really matches up well to the big, full, fat Fodera tone.
Interestingly, most of the artists that are associated with the 'Fodera tone' (Lincoln Goines, Anthony Jackson, Richard Bona) run their basses passive! And Victor Wooten actually uses the old 'pre Pope' two band circuit on his bass.

Lot's of back and forth whether Fodera's, Sadowsky's, etc. are worth it.I played an Emperor Elite for quite a few years. It ended up not really being my thing, and was quite a heavy bass. It was very expensive but I got virtually what I paid for it when I sold it used after about 5 years. They really do hold their value, since it takes about 2 years from order to get one.
For me, with the wonderful Skjold, Stambaugh, Roscoe basses out there for literally half the money, they are not at all worth it to me, and I wouldn't buy another one. Given the two year wait, there are MANY who disagree with me
I agree with KJung that the Aeros are flatter and sound smoother, whereas the SDs are a touch more aggressive (both in the same ball park though).
And I feel that the Foderas are nice basses but overpriced for what they offer. IMHO my Stambaugh, RBass and Brase (all in the 4-5k range) provide sounds that rival my Fodera (9k range).
