I hope the paintball marker stuff is just hyperbole, mcsleazy. While I loathe the WBC, firing upon anyone with a paintball marker when they don't have on proper protection is very dangerous, stooping to their (very low) level, and injurious to paintball's constant struggle against legislation. By all means, involve yourself and fight the good fight, but please do so smartly.

Folks - am I the only one here who just feels... annoyed... whenever I hear "news" about the WBC? I mean - what's the news? They've been doing the same exact thing for years and years. I do not know a single person who doesn't have a strong opinion about them and isn't aware of their spiel. I say, "so what." They have a right to freedom of speech, same as you and me.

I don't think anyone should have "the right" to preach hate?

They are far from ignorant. Violent behavior is what they want and they have a legal team in aiding them when someone commits it against them.

As an American, I apologize in advance for them polluting your fair country with their hatred. Can you tell us what exactly they're protesting? I'm sure it's cruel and ridiculous; I'd just like to know out of curiosity.

Well, out here (Mid-Atlantic) you never hear about them any more. This is the first news I've heard about them in about 6 - 7 months.

You're free to think what you like, just as WBC is free to stage these "protests", and the Foo's were free to "counter-protest." That's how freedom works. If somebody says something you don't like, you can say something back. It's actually a pretty good system, and works much better than censorship.

Re: News coverage of WBC, if Dave Grohl hadn't have pulled this stunt, most of us would never even know the WBC was there that day.

And a fine stunt it was! I'm not really a Foo fan, but Mr. Grohl does seem to be a cool guy.

Well people have reported this thread as political and religious, and in the interest of enforcing the rules with as even a hand as possible, I am closing it. I too feel great happiness when anyone takes up the torch to counter the scum that is the WBC, but at the same time I can see how making exceptions is a bad idea. Sorry.
