He got into politics, wrote a book "Of Grunge and Government", and is still good friends with Dave, to my knowledge. He plays still, a little bit, with Dave and Pat Smear here and there. I think he's on the new Foo's record a little bit, too.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again. I've never needed any more reasons to love Dave and the Foos, but they keep giving them to me anyways.

Grohl is my music idol. He just knows how to be a rock star. Does what he wants without alienating anyone. If you want to come along for the ride, great, you're welcome. He also has a great respect for rock's history.
Actually, I've got to say I'm impressed with the thread: everyone's focused on how cool Grohl is and not on bashing all religion on the excuse of bashing the WBC. bmc's the only one so far to push that line. Thumb's up.
I would hardly say bmc is making a negative statement against religion. I'm a Christian and I totally agree with his statement. Being one of the closest larger cities to WBC we unfortunately see them a great deal protesting in the area. They are a hate group using a church as a cover. They have no place in true Christianity!
I'm not even a huge fan of the Foos and this has given me new respect for them. A completely peaceful protest done with taste.
I didn't mean to pick on bmc. What I meant was, in reference to Ric5's caution, his was the closest to being taken as such a negative comment. All cool here.
Agreed - evil and wickedness takes many forms, and it often appears in the guise of religion.
I may go out and buy one of the Foo Fighters' CDs just as a thank you!
No he didnt! He released an album with a band called Sweet 75, and later formed a band with the guitarist from the Meat Puppets and the drummer from Sublime called Eyes Adrift. He also got into politics. The last I heard, from a few years ago, he had taken over the bass position for the band Flipper.
Im also not a big Foo Fighter fan. I liked a few of their earlier singles, and IMO, since then have kind of kept repeating the same songs over and over. But as someone saidd above, I dont know if there is anyone who truly dislikes Dave Grohl.
i should mention that there coming to scotland to protest in october. im taking the day off college and travelling to edsbra wich is about 75 miles away with a paintball gun and showing these ignorant gits whats what.

As much as I dislike Foo Fighters and Nirvana, Grohl is a cool guy and I have a lot of respect for him. This has to be the best protest ever.

Folks - am I the only one here who just feels... annoyed... whenever I hear "news" about the WBC? I mean - what's the news? They've been doing the same exact thing for years and years. I do not know a single person who doesn't have a strong opinion about them and isn't aware of their spiel. I say, "so what." They have a right to freedom of speech, same as you and me.
