Foo Fighters vs. Westboro Baptist Church

Dave Grohl always impresses me. Dude is playing with EVERYONE, always has something going on, and he is (to my knowledge) one of the nicest, coolest dudes around. I grew up on Nirvana, then got into the Foo's, so it's great to see he's still doing well.

The most impressive thing Dave has done is get 3 songs in the top 3 spots of some radio countdown with 3 different bands. It was when Nirvana had that greatest hits release with You Know You're Right, and Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age each had big singles out at the same time.

Nice one Dave...but I do have a bone to pick with the media who jump though hoops to give the Westboro nutbars a forum. If everyone just pretended they didn't exist their "protests" would lose steam very quickly. Apathy can work wonders when used correctly...

I'm mildly disappointed that they didn't whip out massive Marshall and Ampeg stacks with the volume at 11! That would really have been epic! All the Westboro people coming down with tinnitus! But the Foo boys did a good job anyways! Well done, guys! :D

Good stuff. These WBC guys show up at funerals just to make the bereaved of AIDS victims feel miserable and then file lawsuits if anyone tries to stop them, so I could have easily accepted an even harsher response. Hmm, still, it was probably good that they kept it clean.

I never have and never will have a single bad thing to say about Grohl, the guys a living legend and deserves every bit of fame he's gotten.

But this makes me wonder, what ever happened to Krist Novoselic? He just seemed to disappear after Nirvana...

Strangely enough, after leaving Nirvana he went into politics.

Started a 'Political Action Committee' called JAMPAC that lobbies against laws and whatnot that restrict music (Sort of, that's a very basic way of explaining it).

Which is pretty damn cool.

He alse played bass and accordian on one of the songs on the new Foo Fighters album, I think it's "I Should Have Known"
