For Tequila Lovers

I've gravitated to exclusively tequilas and rums over the years.

We just got this for our wedding anniversary. Someone knows The Coyote pretty well.

Where you at @Lobster11? Today is your day, National Tequila Day in the USA.

-Mike
Hey, thanks for thinking of me, Mike. I had no idea. To me, every day is Tequila Day. But if everyone else wants to join me once a year in recognizing the mighty agave gods, I'm all for it.

I'm sipping a Casa Noble blanco right now. (Unfortunately there isn't much left, so I'll have to switch to Lunazul shortly....)

All we have in the house is a single bottle of Sauza Extra Gold. I shall enjoy a sip on my porch tonight in your honor my friend.

-Mike
I very much appreciate the sentiment -- I really do -- but if you want to honor me with Sauza Extra Gold you should pour yourself a generous glass, lift it toward the East (and just slightly South), make a toast, and then pour that crap down the drain and then enjoy a glass of whatever happens to be your favorite adult beverage.

The Sauza Extra Gold is a "mixto" -- and as far as I'm concerned, if it ain't 100% de agave it ain't tequila.

I can do that too. Ha. :)
I figured I'd get as much of a response from you. Sorry for the tequila failure. I'll do better next time.

Happy NTD! We won some Clase Azule (Blanco & Reposado) in my son's school fund raiser, and I think we'll finish off the Blanco tonight. The Reposado is being saved :)

Friends don't let friends drink Cuervo or Sauza! lol...

If you're looking for a good, budget friendly tequila, I prefer Jimador. It's what we make our Margaritas with if we're out of Don Julio.

Ah, then forgiving me for thinking that you might be one of those (many) people who believe that tequila contains some other kind of psychoactive ingredient other than alcohol.

Anyway, I couldn't agree more, particularly with respect to blancos. Beer and whiskey tend to make me feel both physically and mentally sluggish, whereas tequila makes me feel more energetic and more clear-headed (up to a point, of course). The more the tequila is aged, the more it affects me like beer or whiskey. And I've got a friend who claims that blanco makes him a happy drunk, whereas reposado or anejo makes him an angry drunk. (If anybody knows why, please chime in!)

What do you think @Lobster11 of my choice of the 1800 for the blanco?
I felt like maybe there was something better on the shelf, but I don't know my tequila like I know my bourbon.
Reviews online were good for the 1800 blanco, so I feel like it was a safe choice.

Actually, the 1800 blanco has in recent months become my "everyday" choice, and I happen to be sipping some (on the rocks) as I type this.
