For those who have never owned a fender ?

To those who have never owned a Fender bass, if you were to buy one which one would you get ? If I ever got a Fender I would have to go with a Pink Paisley Telecaster Bass.

Tele basses are real cool and you can't go wrong with a good j bass

Let your ears and hands tell you, can't go wrong w/either the P or J, though my personal preference is the P.

The more practical side of my personality would probably want the Deluxe P Bass Special, but I'd probably end up with the Road Worn 50's P, or lacking that, the Highway 1 P.

i'd get an early 70's P bass. if it had to be new, probably that MIM 50's P

You need a Jazz Bass, you need a P-Bass.
A Tele-style bass is great, ever the new Jaguar is sweet.
There all so different, one is not enough.
I play a Jazz, and a P-bass all the time.
And gas for a mid-50's style P-Bass.
An early 70's fretless P-bass would also be nice?
This is why so many fender owners, own many fenders.

+1, Fenders are like potato chips.......

and +1 on the early 70s fretless PBass, that's what I use w/chrome flats, very versatile, but would like a good J w/frets, too.

I've never owned a Fender, but I've ALWAYS wanted an early 60's P with a maple board. I'll have one someday, but I've been waiting for the right one (ie, not a collector's model).

I would buy new. Around twelve hundred dollars. Don't have it? Save up.

the American standard 5-string P. Without going into detail, it's just the most appealing fender to me tonally.

A maple P-Bass, probably. Not bound to happen any time soon though.
There are too many details I don't like about Fenders.
