Im about to switch out my 5 string corvette. Unsure as to which strings to get. My playing style i use my fingers 90% the rest is slap. I lime to hear the mids alot with mild bass. I do play lot of hip hop songs. I really just need some direction on which to with. Any help would be awesome.

I personally play DR Hi Beams 45-105 with a Tapered 130 B.
Lo Riders from DR You might like as they seem to have a slightly fatter Low Mid.
Have you tried The Warwick Red Labels? I thought they were pretty decent and affordable.

The only requirement I have personally on my Streamer Stage II is Stainless Steel with a tapered B.

I use warwick black labels on my corvette 5, very 'thick' strings. in terms of sound and how they feel. (they're the same ones that come on new german warwicks). I love them, very full sounding.

No i haven't tried the red labels. I was going to just hit up guitar center bit the selection was limited. Where can i pick those up?

Using nickel Dunlops on my Thumb 5.

One thing u should tell us is if you like nickel of stainless..... big difference

I guessing the nickel i like a little more. Little under educated on te strings. But dont the stainless have a clanky sound.d them?

If you like Nickels I might suggest DR Nickel Lo Riders. As you probably guessed, I like DR's. I don't think Stainless sound clanky, but it depends on your ears and how you attack them I suppose.

Circle K. You can't go wrong with them. Plenty of fundamental, tonally balanced across all strings, and plenty of upper-harmonic register to dial in almost any tone you could want (unless you're a super-bright-steel string player or a 30-year-old flats player).

I use the Warwick EMP strings and Dean Markley Blue Steels on my Warwicks. I love them both! Hope this helps.

I've used a couple of strings on my Warwicks. Here's what I've found.

Rotosound Swing 66: Really brings out the aggressive, growly nature that the Corvette has. Makes it a very angry, rock sounding bass.

Dean Markley Blue Steels: Once the new string zing wears off, they have a lot of nice beef to them, with a mellow tone. Stays that way for a WHILE.

Circle K Balanced & Traditional sets: Very clear and articulate tone, with excellent playability up the neck on all strings. When they start going, they tend to sound brittle and thin.

GHS Super Steel Contact Cores: (what I'm using now) Very close to the CKs, except they're a little more mellow off the bat. I think I like the B string a little better on the GHS; it really shakes the instrument.

Warwick EMP: They're okay, but nothing special. They remind me of black labels, but a little mellower.

Warwick Black Label: Really work well with the "sound of wood." Accents the upper end and keeps the low end in spades.

I like these a lot too, but I haven't tried as large a variety of strings as many others here. Also, I've used them on a Cirrus and a fretless Squier, but I don't own a Warwick.

I apologize for posting on an old thread. I'm on my 4th Warwick. This one is a thumb 5 NT and I've had a few odd favorites to use with warwicks including peavey cirrus string, Ken Smith Burners. But for the two years I've been playing DR tight fit Hi-Beams and I love them. I use the set with the 125 low B and they are NOT tapercore. They are bright. I actually run my lows and mids all the way up and the highs flat on my onboard EQ. But they sound great and last.

I use either Lo Riders (I've used both nickel or steel) or the Hi Beams on my Thumb 5 BO.

They all sound great but I think I like the nickel string best now.
