Best part, it's made in China...:cigar:

The old quote is appropriate: "The WHY question occurs to me."

Its a guitar youtuber Jared Dines commissioned as a prop for a comedy video two years ago. The person he was buying it from ended up being a scam artist who stole his deposit and never delivered the instrument. You can see Jared's initials inlayed at the 12th fret.

It was was intended to troll people who start threads like this, as well as metal guitar players who detune a lot.

He ended up getting an 18 string built in 2018.

He's fully aware of how ridiculous it is. That was the point.

I just have to know....what is the tuning?

I don't know about the 17, but on the 18 its D#, G#, C#, F#, B, E, D#, G#, C#, F#, B, E, A, D, G, B, E, A from lowest to highest. At least that's what it was when they presented it at NAMM last year.

Basically he put the skinniest string he could find on one side, the thickest on the other and then started over a couple of times in the middle because it wasn't physically possible to have a linear 4ths tuning across that much range.
