Forgotten 70's Rock Bands

Pierce Arrow - This band was destined to be really big but they fizzled without the attention they should have gotten. (Featuring top session players Robin Batteau, Jeff Kent, and David Buskin, along with former Cactus guitarist Werner Fritzching, former Robert Gordon drummer Bobby Chouinard, and former Doors bassist Doug Lubahn)
Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids
Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen
Nite City (The Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek’s super-group featuring vocalist Noah James and former Blondie bassist Nigel Harrison)

I never really considered Manfred Mann as "forgotten". One or two hit wonder maybe but not forgotten. Hard to go a day listening to a classic rock station and not hear "Blinded By The Light."

Manfred Mann and Manfred Mann's Earth Band had a long string of hit songs in Europe and North America in the 60s and 70s.

5-4-3-2-1
Hubble Bubble Toil and Trouble
Do Wah Diddy Diddy
Sha-La-La
Come Tomorrow
Oh No Not My Baby
If You Gotta Go, Go Now
Pretty Flamingo
You Gave Me Somebody to Love
Just Like a Woman
Semi-Detached Suburban Mr. James
Ha! Ha! Said the Clown
Sweet Pea
Mighty Quinn
My Name Is Jack
Fox on the Run
Joybringer
Spirits in the Night
Blinded by the Light
Davy's on the Road Again
You Angel You
Don't Kill It Carol
Runner

I'd add Father of Night, Father of Day to this list. It got lots of airply here in the midwest at the time it came out.
