Forgotten 70's Rock Bands

Excellent stuff. The first Montrose album is one of my favorites and was the first time I heard Sammy Hagar. Sammy still does songs from this album like "Bad Motor Scooter" when he plays live 35 years later. Gamma was also a good band and had a very Robin Trower-like sound.
Back in the 70's, I went to a show in Cincinnati that had 3 bands: Starcastle opened, followed by Rush, and the headliner was Boston. This is still one of the most memorable shows for me because it was my first Rush show and they were the best band in that lineup by far. Boston was touring after the first album was such a huge hit, but they sucked live. That was the show that really turned me into a Rush fan for the past 30+ years.
The Tubes are one of my favorite all-time bands. Great musicianship and songs with a sense of humor and sarcasm. "Completion Backward Principle" in the early 80's is a classic with some killer bass lines. Rick Anderson is a very under-rated bassist in my opinion.

Was this the one where Rush was doing 2112 with all the cool lights and all? I may have been there too. Kinda hazy...Your show may have been later.

Another "Anyone remember __" would be the original Masters of the Universe from the late 70's, not the later band of the same name from the 90's.

most of you won't know these 2 bands but those from german speaking countries will remember the nina hagen band and the band that came out of it after nina went solo.
the band continued as spliff and was hugely successful in the german speaking parts of europe. for me, their 85555 album is a great album still today.

Everyone remembers 99 Red Ballons (both versions: in English and in German}. It's burned into our memory
I remember both. Didn't Spliff have a song called Da Da Da? But that wasn't in the 70's. They were more 80's techno pop.

Oh man. Not the same thing at all. Nena (with an "e" and no surname) was the "99 Luftballoons" singer.
Nina Hagen was a very interesting singer and performance artist who produced a lot of interesting work.
