Ah, yes. When Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes played great music. Someone asked Terrible Ted why he didn't do Duke's type stuff any more when he got famous for "Cat Scratch Fever" etc. He replied "I spent ten years starving to death playing great music. I write a one-chord song about poontang and make a million dollars. What would YOU do?"

Tucky Buzzard

In 1971-1972 they were very popular in Berks County PA (where I grew up) because of a song called "Time Will Be Your Doctor". It was a British band whose recordings were produced by Bill Wyman.

That's funny, because I saw four of your bands--B.O.A. (headlining with Rush); Pat Travers (opening for The Tubes); Blackfoot (on a stadium bill with Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, and Brownsville Station); and The Babys....

I think of them more as an 80's band since "On the Loose" didn't make them well know in the US until 1982. I remember that video playing quite a bit on MTV.

Saga has always been one of my all time favorite bands (by the way, Michael Sadler recently rejoined the band) and their first two albums came out in 1978 and 1979 and I thought they were incredible at the time.

the Pink Fairies!!!

someone else mentioned Sparks, but I wouldn't call them a forgotten 70's rock band... they were never that big in the states, but have remained beloved in the UK up until this day. They even recently had a series of huge concerts there, where they performed their entire catalog, in chronological order, one album per night, plus "bonus" songs for encores (B-sides, etc.) And they are still making new music to this day.
