Forgotten 70's Rock Bands

I'm pretty sure these don't qualify as "forgotten" but they were not that mainstream either. Musicians, however, loved them.
Mahavishnu Orchestra ( I saw they were mentioned but they are so good I did it again
) and Return to Forever

I used to listen to Q 107 when I lived in T.O. all the time. Is it still refered to a Q10Zepplin?
My favorite bit from Kim is his "Damn, I wish I wrote that" segments. I recall him doing one from Max Webster and saying, "Wait, I DID write that" :lol

The Jaggerz (which was Donnie Iris and had a hit with "The Rapper" who was with Wild Cherry but did not play on "Play That Funky Music" and then he put together Donnie Iris & The Cruisers in 1980. I saw them last night in concert and was talking to Donnie, who is 68 years old and still hitting the high notes)

The Canadian progressive band FM was a 70s band. The British band FM was an 80s band. I was referring to the Canadian band.

This band was fronted by a woman named April Lawton with Mike Pinera from Iron Butterfly and Hendrix's Mitch Mitchell. Having a woman lead guitarist in those days was pretty unusual, and although she was pretty decent looking, there was a rumor that she was transexual, presumably because she played guitar too well to actually be female. They flamed out pretty fast and she wasn't really heard from again; I believe she died about 5 years ago.

I bought a Ramatam album simply based on Mitch Mitchell being in the band and a review in Guitar Player Magazine. Wonderful album! Thanks for jogging this memory.
And to continue the Mike Pinera connection, how about Blues Image? Pinera, and Joe Lala who went on to play percussion with Stephen Stills in Manassas and some CSN(Y) tours. I got the first album which was great funky rock/jazz kind of stuff, much different than the later big hit "Ride, Captian, Ride".

Was Fat Mattress the 70's? Maybe they should be forgotten. Not that great IMO.. Still bought it back then because of the Hendrix connection.

Slade, Badfinger, Mott The Hoople three of my favorites.
All three great bands for sure. Brain Capers by Mott The Hoople is one of my favorite albums from that decade. It was going to be their swan song until a gent by the name of David Bowie wrote a little tune for them called "All The Young Dudes."
I do know 70's rock and there are some bands mentioned I've never heard before. Great stuff to research and get some new tunes from! Cool thread!
