Sunday, as well as F1, we have IndyCar and MotoGP and NASCAR

A couple of thoughts going into this season/weekend.
- IMO, the FIA, with the "tweaks" made to the Safety Car rules for this year, tacitly admit that the way Abu Dhabi was handled last year was a mistake. Interesting was Peter Beyer's (FIA Exec Director of Single-Seaters) statement that had Mercedes pursued their appeal, it would likely have been decided that "it's different in the regulations, he (Masi) decided that (other) way, so we could have just voided the result.""
If the race had been voided, Verstappen wins Championship anyway as he started the event ahead of Hamilton, so mox nix. Water under the bridge, but interesting (at least to me).
- First couple of races will hopefully live up to the hype and be really interesting with so many different configurations of cars taking the grid early-on. It won't last, once it becomes obvious who got it right and who got it wrong, mods will be made and they'll all start to look the same again. This weekend should be lots of fun to see who's in the "got it right" camp and who's in the "got it wrong" one.
- I am hopeful that the new regs and tires allow for closer racing. Would hate for all these rules changes to not have the desired effect.

It would seem that Mercedes has there work cut out to get the mojo back, good job Ferrari. Will be interesting to see whose on podium tomorrow
If the rest of the season goes like this it'll be great (except the RBPT problems).
