Formula 1/F1/Formula One

Did the Red Bull team ever announce what the heck happened to both their cars at the end of the race? Both Max and Checo were having a great race. It was a bummer to see them come up pointless at the end of the day because of mechanical issues.

Good to see the Scuderia coming out of the gates hot. A win/double podium to start off the year is great. And my God finally Haas put points on the board with K-Mag's awesome return to F1. That was great to see.

Overall it was a fun, exciting race to watch. Max and Charles trading passes in turns 1-4 for 2-3 laps in a row was amazing. So far it seems that these new cars are delivering what the concept promised, even though only one race in isn't enough to say that for sure. Even though I guess I consider myself a F1 newbie (I'm a DTS convert), I'm more excited for this season than I have been so far as a fan. Buckle up, it's gonna be fun.

Saudi GP still on despite extraordinary F1 drivers' meeting - The Race

So there's this. Apparently there was a missile strike from Yemeni rebels that hit an oil depot not far from the track. I heard about it actually by way of a YouTube video I saw just a little why ago that showed a pillar of smoke not far from the track on drivers' on board cameras during a recent practice session. Obviously there were/are safety concerns expressed in a drivers meeting but the FIA is apparently going forward with the race.

watching Formula 2 racing for a bit....
Those cars and their roaring engines and very fast cars....reminds me of watching Formula 1 races that are from the 1960's.
Very exciting.... if the events had the fanfare and coverage of Formula 1

Those cars are exhilarating ...but the drivers I do not know...all kids...But wow..why do we need Formula 1 , when Formula 2 is so gutsy!?

Apparently, he's okay, but Haas will be fielding just the one car for Magnussen on Sunday. My guess is they don't have the parts to rebuild Shumi's car for Fittipaldi to drive.
AFAIK Fittipaldi would not be eligible to drive in the race anyway, no substitutions being allowed once qualifying commences. I think he also would have needed to participate in at least one practice session as well?
