Just my opinion mind you but maybe do any kind of re start from behind a safety car from now on, standing start is for beginning of race only. Who's running that show anyway, sounds like a complete cluster f****

I completely agree and it showed just how dangerous a grid start is.....Rolling start seems so much safer.

Great to see Alonso mixing it up with the front runners, parity is always a good thing. Was reading a interview with Max V. and I tend to agree with him about this whole sprint thing, perhaps it sells more tickets but it does sort of get away from the traditional spirit of things. Practice saturday morning and qualify that afternoon, race on Sunday, either that or have fewer races. Moving that whole circus around the world is a massive logistical feat.
I could get a bunch of 8 year olds to run it better. What a joke.
Crazy race but awesome to see three world champions on the podium.

Anyone else in the U.S. have problems watching the race. I have Hulu, and recorded the race. I went to watch it yesterday in the morning, and ESPN had absolutely ruined the race with commercial breaks. They somehow completely deleted the last race re-start that caused all the carnage that wound up with the race restarting behind the safety car. They went from everyone sitting in the pit lane before the last standing start, to everyone pulling out on track for the safety car ending. I sat there wondering how they somehow went from 55 laps to 58 laps all while never leaving the garage. Absolutely brutal presentation of the coverage by ESPN.
Great race. I hate to see a red flag finish but I get it. Loving the mixing up of the top 10 lately. It’s good for the sport.
It wasn't ESPN, so it must have been Hulu that did that.
I agree with Max as well. I fear that Domenicali will do everything he can to squeeze every dollar out if the sport by adding as many races as possible (both sprint and new events). If you're alienating the drivers themselves, not to mention engineers and other trackside workers, you're not going the right direction.
On the other side, if they can have a qualifying session before the sprint, and have the sprint be a separate event from the main race, that should at least make the sprint race interesting. Sprint races as they are now are mostly a procession, as the drivers have way more to lose than they have to gain.
I think the last sprint race of 2022 was pretty great. Not every track allows for a lot of overtaking, sprint races really should only be held where the racing is good.
But I’m all in favor of figuring out how to get as much excitement out of the sport as possible. I don’t remember who said it, maybe a former driver, but in the last couple weeks someone was talking about how F1 was a sport first and entertainment second. Which I find to be the dumbest thing I’ve heard about F1. It’s a sport that requires hundreds of millions of dollars to put on, which is 100% not possible without the support of the fans. It’s not like soccer or basketball which anyone can do at home for basically no money.

As a casual F1 fan since the early 70s the current Netflix series is the best I’ve seen. Covering several seasons from 2018 on it’s fascinating to see the car/driver/team development to today.

Well...Last Sundays race was one of the most boring I've seen in a while...
I still wish the camera would film a whole "best of the rest" race experience...
I love that all the most exciting action is found in the mid field and would be happy to watch it each week!

The right decision. Even if the track is in good shape no need to put folks in harms way trying to get in and out of the area.
This season has started off as a pretty big dud so far. The racing/competition is pretty subpar so far, and two months into the season we've more off weeks than race weeks.
