He’s not “my guy” but I like Alonso plenty and happy to see him back on the podium.
Even if I was a huge Max fan, I would not be a fan of this season so far. Going 4 weeks, 3 weeks without a race, overtaking is way down, the same team is 5 for 5 on wins, winning by 30-50 seconds ahead of the next fastest car, etc. This might be worse than the first few years of Mercedes dominance in turbo hybrid early days. By 2017 the racing has gotten generally more exciting, Mercedes went from winning like 85% of the races to like 50-60%, so it was never like a foregone conclusion as to who would win the way it is every race right now. And with everyone in the midfield just minding their tires all race there’s not much excitement there either. I understand that too. You get a few overtakes done driving on the limit, and then end up as the only racer taking a second pit stop and you wind up at the back of the field, there’s no payoff. But it’s a snooze fest.

Fantastic Monaco race this year!
I'm a huge Bottas and Alfa fan (I own a Giulia and TCed a 155 back in the day) so I was disappointed that DeVries ruined his chance for points. The numbers showed that he could have at least gotten to P9 based on Lando's pace, but Piastri's wet pace would have eventually won out in the long term.
Also bummed that Aston botched Nando's pit strategy. Had they waited for the inters he likely would have passed Max, but the decision to change to slicks compromised that.
And Ferrari definitely screwed Sainz over in favor of LeClerc. They need to play the team game more instead of IDing who's the number one or number two. LeClerc clearly is faster overall but in this case they should have seen Sainz had the pace advantage and given him priority. Guess Ferrari will always Ferrari.
Huge congrats to Ocon for killing it in quali and holding onto his pace to nab a podium!

Those cars have out grown the Monaco circuit, It was fine back in the day but just doesnt work well with modern cars, maybe time to move on.

Yes there is plenty of history and plenty of money too, so maybe they just race vintage cars there in the future so they can relive the history. F1 left Zandvoort for years until they upgraded so it can be done.
Zandvoort is a track and Monaco is a street circuit. Big difference. I don't believe the Grand Duchy of Monaco is going to carve up their principality to widen the course.
I realize that but just as a user friendly course modern cars have out grown that narrow street circuit, The Grand Duchy has got some bucks, maybe he should consider a different layout somewhere outside there little principality or , as I suggested, maybe just host vintage auto racing on the street circuit. I'm sure they would still draw a crowd, vintage racing is quite popular across the pond. Modern F1 cars aren't going to get any smaller or slower.
Vintage racing wouldn't draw the same crowd or the same money.

That’s the most fun race to watch. I imagine it must be the most difficult to drive.
I'll admit it wasn't nearly as exciting as this years Indy 500.

Indy was 100% stupid this year. NTT and F1 both need to figure out a way to let a race play out. Not sacrificing safety, just maybe consider a 10 lap rule or something. It’s no longer a competition when you reel in the leaders for a restart on a single lap. I enjoy watching the race but that was more a lottery and less a competition.
The indy 500 and the coke 600 were way more exciting than monoco imho. The 500 was by far the best race of the weekend if you ask me.I'll admit it wasn't nearly as exciting as this years Indy 500.

I've actually found this season of F1 to be the most disappointing season that I can remember in the last 15 years of me watching F1. It's just not doing it for me and the racing has been meh if you ask me. I keep watching, but other than Alonso's drives this year it hasn't intrigued me in the least. Maybe it's just me but indy and nascar have been way more entertaining for me this season.
To each their own, I hope I'm in the minority of race fans and that people have been enjoying the season. I find myself doing other things like starring at my phone or playing bass during F1 races this season as they can't keep my attention.
I understand people's frustration but I just enjoy the races for what they are instead of being concerned about what they are not.
