Thanks, I just bookmarked that page. I may not be a Christian but I like gospel music.
About a year ago I saw an ad on craigslist posted by a guy who's bass had been stolen. He was looking for a Gibson EBO (he's in a Cream cover band). I didn't have an EBO but I did have have an old EB3 that was just sitting around unused b/c it needed some work done on it (and it was also a bit heavy for me).
I ended up giving him the bass. He fixed it up and now he's gigging it. I'm glad the bass is being played.

The Melody Maker EBO got loaned to the kid for practice cuz mom's Tele was too big ... 20 years later it's in Texas being loved and having Mega death style written with it.

I have been lurking in this thread all week and I must say it's a great feeling to give some the gift of music... But to bring a long-lost family together, WOW, what a cool ride this has been!
There's loads of us here in the UK watching this with baited breath....
I'm with you on that one, I'm telling all my friends and family over here about this! If it does turn out well it'd be brilliant if the story to get to the rest of the public!

I not really a career cynic but this did smack of uncool "lowness" at first glance. This topic was posted over a adadepot.com and I had to check it out.
Well I'm happy to see that it has turned out to be one of the coolest threads I've ever had the pleasure to read and I will be checking back on Saturday with the hopes of some Jam pics.

I just got back from band practice tonight. Word of this whole thing is spreading quickly. My guitarist asked me if I ever heard of TalkBass, and this thread. Apparently, this story has been linked into the guitar sites he frequents. How cool is that?

I can't believe it was my Guitar playing friend that sent me the link to this thread! I spend way too much time on TB but had no idea this thread was going on. What a great story. i hope we get to see some pics of Art playing his new bass and possibly hangin with Andre!
