So here is the thing. I also play
through a Fender Blues Deluxe. If you've experienced this amp you know it is pretty much all high end. I have two of these speakers and an empty Sunn model 2 cabinet.
I'm thinking: close backed cab with fairly radical bass amp speakers in it will add a bit more balls to my current tone. But here is the issue... IMPEDANCE. I can wire it up for 4, or 16 ohms but not 8. It has to be 8! I have heard of the arcane science of soldering in resistors, and I've done some reading about it, but I'm still a dufus. Can anyone give me a suggestion?
I am set on using these speakers, and this cabinet.
Though picking up one of those mini svt 2x10s Ampeg put out a year or so ago is appealing, the stink eye I get from my girl when I bring new gear home has reached a critical level.
