free jam tracks for us bass players

Thanks Mo' Bass - good to hear.

SBassman - yep - that is one of the things I'm doing at the moment. So going through all the older stuff - put everything up so there are all formats.

Also re-numbering the tunes so they only go from 01-11 and grouping them into styles.

It all involves a bit of stuffing around but all cool.

I was away last week for work so am only back on the job now. Hopefully put it all up refreshed by next weekend.

Yo!

I've just moved the site over to the new host. Haven't moved anything around yet - that's coming next (and then some new stuff).

Can y'all help me out by letting me know if you click on any links that are dead/you can't download etc etc etc

You can either post here or email me at [email protected]

Cheers all - jam on.
Nick.

Thank you prokfrog.

Thanks RCCollins - yeah - I thought there might have been issues with the mp3 uploads. I went through the wma files randomly and all of the ones I checked there seemed to work.

I'm re-uploading the mp3's now - will take a while - we'll see how we go.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will have put up the new pages and reload the tracks.

The new pages/site is pages by style - and renaming all the tracks (just the numbers) so the tracks are labelled 01-11 in albums by style.

I'll get there - I'm just happy a large portion of it seemed to move over ok - I was worried it would be totally down for a few days when I did it. So at least it's up and running even if there are some dead links on there.

I am a web hack!

Rock n Roll - the newly designed site is running and on the new host server. :hyper:

The Bass Home is here: http://www.freejamtracks.com/bassplayers.html

Phew - that was a lot of work. Not too many changes - and I've only put up a few of the old tracks - will do the rest over the course of the next few days/week.

It's all the tracks from the old site but they are just sorted into styles and I'm putting up mp3's for all tracks. Also they are renamed - the name stays the same but the numbers of the tracks are going from 01-11, sorted by style and kind of an album number.

eg Blues 01 - is 11 tracks. Blues 02 another 11 blues tracks.
Funk 01 - is 11 funk tracks etc etc etc

So you can see what is happening with it from here.

Just keep writing tracks 01-11 for each style - fill up all styles and have multiple 'albums' within each style.

So they are being grouped into Albums - will zip each album by mp3 and wma zip at some point too so the tracks can be downloaded in groups.

There are other things coming too - just a bit of instructional stuff and so on - but that is later on down the track.

blah blah blah - 15 hours later - time for sleeeeeeeep

:)

Thanks SBassman.

11 more of the blues tracks are back up.

When I re-name the files from say '46 My Computer Hates Me' to '05 My Computer Hates Me' - it shows me the name I change it to in windows media player and everywhere and then when I upload them to the site 1/2 the time the name changes back to the '46 My Computer Hates Me' old file name.

Conclusion: My Computer Hates Me!!!!

:)

No worries pansieF - yeah, better than a metronome - that's how they started - I wasn't playing at home much, a bit boring.

Makes life easier/more fun if you have something more band like to muck around with.

Cheers, Nick.

Yee-ha!

The country link is up with all the country tracks from the old site up and running.

http://www.freejamtracks.com/bass/country.html

Well I worked out what I have been doing wrong (or not very efficiently) with loading the old tracks and there names not going up the way I wanted them too. So the Country ones are all good.

A kind jammer told me that I should have the tracks up on the site so they are named_with_underscores on them otherwise the computer reads spaces as crap20%like20%this which is ugly looking and apparantly not as efficient to load.

That's fine but when you open the track on your computer or put it in an iPod etc I want the track to not have the underscores.

Anyway - I seem to have worked out how to do it. It doesn't really matter - I'm just trying to make things as efficient and clean as possible.

End of ramble! I just type this type of rubbish out cause it's the end of the night and I'm listening to music/winding down - I know a few people on here are interested in how I am going about things &/or why.

There are no secret :hiding: herbs and spices - the recipe is on the table!
