Free video editor

Does anyone know of a free video editor
I recorded a song with 3 different basses to be able to hear and show others the difference between basses while playing the same track.
It seems very difficult with windows video maker
Does anyone have a better way to do it ?
and just in case anyone wants to play the game, since it is more fun without visual, this is the track, one bass is a mustang, one is a lakaland modified with alumitone P, the other one a tokai, with bill Lawrence and old round SS string, the mustang and lakland have fender flats.

VSDC is a known, high-quality (for computer-based use) video editor with a free version. i have a paid version (only $20) so i'm not sure of the differences. but there are plenty of support videos on youtube, some blogs, yada yada. i use several editors for different things/reasons, but i always 'mixdown' in vsdc.

hope that helps! good luck with your videos!

thank you I will check it out, the main purpose is to show the difference with a couple of P basses and a mustang since shortscale seems to be the new trend, I enjoy playing it, but takes time to get used to the little bass.

I'm assuming that you'll be posting the video to YouTube. You'll want to look for a video editor that has a YouTube output preset. YouTube has specific requirements for audio level that you should research. They are known to destroy audio that's outside of spec (too hot). Since you're providing an audio comparison, that'll be the most important feature consideration.

I use Corel's VideoStudio.

Avoid Cyberlink products like the plague. They NEVER stop bugging you to upgrade, even if you're on the top version and have nothing to upgrade to. Bogus.

Avoid Filmora.

I was unaware of VSDC until JRA's post above. It looks like even the free version provides a YouTube output preset. Since the Pro version is on sale for only $19.99, I'd give that a go. Filmora9 is an annual sub (or $70 one time). VideoStudio Pro is $80.

Good luck!

Another vote for Resolve. The basic version is free, and the new 18.6 release offers lots of presets and options for social media exports. They have a great multicam option to sync cameras and easily switch between them. Their website has lots of instructional material as does youtube. If you go deep into it Resolve has what is pretty much the industry standard for color correction in the professional world.
