Why does my E string hit a fret board and make a clicking sound when I play notes on the E string? The only time it doesn't happen is if I am playing very slowly and being extremely careful to pick across or slightly upward.
I have no clue what you mean. Clicking? Your bass may need a set-up. You could have a 'notch' in your bridge saddle or nut. It could be a number of things. I think you should have someone watch you play to see what's going on. But I'd just have a tech look at the bass.
