My frets are tarnishing more the lower frets by the bady?I dont really know why i dont play down there.Is this bad and how do i fix it.It looks bad!

Some fine grade 0000 steel wool.
Use either a thin metal guard from Stewmac, or some light painters tape to mask the fretboard.

Have not tried to clean them noticed about a hour ago my frets from 20 down are tarnished.Upper frets are not as bright as they could be but man the lowers are bad.How often do you clean your frets and can i protect them with anything (wax,or coating of some sort)?
