Hey guys could you name me some good 6 string 24 fretless basses neck thru not lined at any price range anywhere from 1000-7000 dollars is the amount I'd be willing to spend.

I was at Pete Hanewinckels shop today (www.hguitars.com) and played a killer 6 string fretless.

Pete make's a great bass...

So do Chris Stambaugh, Chris Benavente & Brian Barrett, Mark Garza, George Furlanetto, The Fodera guys, and there are many more.

Between $1000 and $7000? That's like saying you're looking to buy a house and have a budget of $100,000 to $2,000,000 You can get pretty much any bass with that price range in an unlined six-string format....hell, Fender will even build you one for that. What are you looking for as far as specs, tone, body style, etc.?

I'm looking for about 35 inch scale with a standard looking body and natural finish preferable bubina as a top wood and ash in the centre. I pretty much wouldn't mind the Yamaha TRB 6PII just fretless and I don't know if yamaha makes them fretless.

For that kind of change you should look at the F basses from Canada. They make an Alain Caron signature model and others. I had a 6 string unlined ebony with passive pickups and so on. Great sound and craftmanship.

Lol k well it would probably have to be something I can order in cause here in Saskatoon theres nothing... Give me some model names and stuff like that so I can order them in and test them. BTW thats a beutiful ****ing bass right there.^^^^^

Wow guy those are some beutiful basses. I actually don't have that much money to throw around but thats how much I'd spend on my next bass.

Get a fretless Pedulla Thunderbass. I would say a Hexabuzz, but you said you were looking for a standard looking bass. You can order them without lines if you want. They make a wide spaced 6 if you want too. Bubinga is an optional top wood. The cool thing about Pedulla is that they use a polyester finish they call Diamondkote on the ebony fingerboards that makes them stand up better to wear and tear as well as giving them a very singing tone with tons of sustain. I am getting a Pentabuzz in a few days. They are simply one of the finest fretless basses out there. You'll be looking at about $2500 - $3000 to take one home. I've got a connection that can get you a killer deal on one if you land on it;-) Steve

I'm still not entirely sure what kind of bass your'e looking for. You said standard looking: does that mean a fretless six string jazz, or just not something completely radical looking? I would reccomend looking into a Zon Sonus custom 6, a Roscoe SKB3006, a Modulus Quantum 6, Fbass BN6, MTD 635, Ken Smith BSR6, a Pedulla thunderbolt 6..... and on and on Its hard to suggest something without knowing what you're looking for tonally, functionally, and aesthetically. That was just my short list of fretless 6's that I've played and liked (that aren't 5k+ and that aren't long custom order deals) There are alot more in the custom order realm that I would reccomend but I don't know if you would want to wait 6 months to a year or more for a custom, so I didn't mention them.

If you still want bubinga and ash in a fretless six, seriously look into a Zon Sonus special 6. That thing is good................
