Fretless bass for choice

Really depends on what you want to spend. You can do a search for the Fretless Club thread and get lots of ideas. If you've got major bucks to spend; two words...

I really enjoy my G&L SB-2 when I get the chance to play it
I wish I could spend more time with it as fretless basses are a blast to play but all my time lately is spent playing 5-stringers.
If I went to buy another fretless I would make it a 5-string as I would get more use out of it, but I was not sure if I would like...or even if I could play....a fretless, but they are not that difficult to get used too and they are a lot of fun
Peavey Cirrus, Zon, Conklin, Rob Allen, Roscoe, etc. Depends on the tone you're looking for and what you've got to spend.

Nino Valenti built an incredible fretless 5 string which I am fortunate enough to own. If one ever comes up used, grab it. Also, look into a Fender Tony Franklin P/J. One of the best passive basses I have ever played, and worth every penny.

There is an unbelievable F Bass fretless at my local specialty bass store; Bass Specialties in Bensalem, PA.
It's beautiful and sounds unbelievable. It's ~$3k; which is out of my price range.
If you're on a limited budget then check out the Gary Willis model. It's ~$600. GWB35.
That's your only criterion? That it be anything other than a Fender? With literally scores of makes & models available, you could go in almost any direction from there...
Personally, I own a fretless Carvin four-string. Since Carvin's CNC-equipped manufacturing process renders such close tolerances, their fretless basses allow for the kind of precise set-up that produces maximum mwah. Very cool...
You can get one direct from the factory - all tricked out with piezoelectric transducer in the bridge and an epoxy coating on the fingerboard - for something in the range of $1,200 - $1,300. Maybe less...

I bought my Lakland 55-02 for $500 on evilbay. They seem to go a little higher now, but I really like mine.
check out Guitar Center's Ocean basses - you've got to pick thru them as they can be uneven, but they have good quality electronics and nice necks for under $700. Or, well.... Fender.
