Fretless Bass

That ^ seems to be mandatory for Squier fretless in stores -- mile high action and nothing setup.

Tried out some last summer in Lung & McWeighed, mile high nothing setup -- pity cawz there were several to try; got back to HK and can't find any fretless to try...

I've seen them in stores where they were set up and a week or so later--they need a neck adjustment--maybe some climates are okay--but the ones I've seen needed frequent adjustment--and I've heard the same thing from others--I've seen them myself in a number of stores in three cities in two provinces.
If you get a good one that doesn't need that adjustment--then enjoy.

Unfortunately this is not the exclusive domain of Squier, or any other brand, nor of only fretless basses. My recent experience is that stores just don't bother, or know how, to set up basses. Guitars yes, but basses, no. Other than an Ibanez Portamento that was perfect, the only ones I have found recently that were properly set up were used, where I guess the previous owner knew what they were doing and the stores had quite rightly left well alone...

After playing my fretless again exclusively, fretted basses seem unnatural because the frets.I would say get what you want.
