Fretless electric around £1k advice please

I currently have a USA Fender Jazz fretless with S1 switching, I love playing fretless but I want a better bass to do it on... more even sound up and down the neck, a bit more punch and presence... I just have no idea what's available.
I like the idea of a Stingray 5 as I have a fretted one but would it be the best option?
I love pino's work with manu katche, his old Stingray fretless sounds fab...
Help / advice welcome!

I dug it out again last night to remind me how it feels and the neck is way too narrow for me nowadays, I'm used to a p-bass or sray5 neck not a modern jazz matchstick...

The first decent fretless that I tried and liked was a thumb thru neck fretless at a guitar show...it had a real nice mwah to it, I had a thumb for several years until I got fed up of it's clinical clarity and wanted something more organic sounding, I love the grunt of my SR5.

I'll give a rockbass a look tho cos i know they're not quite the same as a warwick...
