It is a 2007 MIM, all original except for the pickguard. The original pickguard was plain white, and I thought the vintage pearl gave it a little more life. It also has a Hipshot Xtender (not visible in the pic).

I have yet to gig this bass. In fact, I've only played one single song on a fretless at a gig in my 32 years of gigging. But it's fun to mess around on at the house.

Well, it IS sunburst; but it has a pickguard, concentric controls, maple veneer filling the fret slots (instead of wood filler) and the fingerboard is not poly coated. So, I don’t think it looks like Jaco’s. It’s a 1983 AVRI that has looked like this since 1992 when I defretted it and put in an old set of DiMarzio dual coils.

thanks, @filwitheneff! it's fun to play --- i lucked out with that neck! since i'm not a luthier (i assemble parts!) i'd think twice about taking your hard-earned money...but a few mexican lagers could be persuasive!

Here's mine, two-piece mahogany body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, 33" scale. The pickups are Fender CS, but I don't really like them. I have a set of Aguilars and EB Cobalt flats waiting to be installed.

Sold this a while ago, but I'll play. AllParts maple neck w/ebony board & Mex body, and yes the guy who bought it knew it was not a real Fender. Did they ever make an ebony fretless Jazz?
