Sold this a while ago, but I'll play. AllParts maple neck w/ebony board & Mex body, and yes the guy who bought it knew it was not a real Fender. Did they ever make an ebony fretless Jazz?

I just ordered a Fender Custom Shop ’62 Jazz in NOS aged Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock, lined fretless epoxied fingerboard. All specs other than color exactly like the FCS Jaco Tribute bass. Wait time: 14-16 months.

I’ve had a number of fretless Js over the years, none of which looked like Jaco’s. Currently, the only fretless Js I have are these two parts basses:

Jazz bass I built from cheap Ebay parts. Stripped the thick poly sunburst, sprayed it with Daphne Blue nitro, and epoxied the board.

like many here, had a bit of downtime these past couple of years so did a bit of 'dr. frankenstein-ing' swapping necks and bodies and hardware and one combo that came out of the assembly was this fretless. feels, sounds, and plays better than when the parts were married elsewhere. plus, it's my lightest fiver at 8.75 pounds.
