fretless Jazz

hey guys, i am looking to buy a fretless jazz bass. what kind of options can i get on the fender fretless jazzes. im looking at MIM or CIJ coz MIA is just too expensive

I'm very pleased with my MIM fretless J-bass. I made some mods: vintage tuning keys (helps keep it firmly in tune, essential for fretless), vintage noiseless pups (dead quiet and great output), and a BadassII bridge, and a pearloid (aged pearl) pickguard. Light gauge GHS flats for minimul neck strain, and it's a killer!

Try a Squier vintage modified fretless.

Looking for an inexpensive lefty fretless Jazz? Good luck... I can't think of any Fender made this way. MIM FL's only come righty, and their lefty counterparts are fretted only. May be looking at a defret

what does CIJ mean?

Crafted in Japan (Fender Japan)

Used "Made in Japan" until they ran out of serial numbers, and started over denoting them as "Crafted in Japan"

Try the CIJ Jaco model. In my opinion it's much better than any MIM you'll find.
