Fretless mod

This just popped up on my Facebook feed. interesting. Fretless in a pocket
I saw the other thread; I dunno, it just seems too fussy, unless a player was merely dabbling with fretless. I mean, would you use that on a gig and fit that thing on occasionally?
What I’ve found is that if you’re going to have a fretless bass in your arsenal, you really have to commit and work on your technique, as it’s an entirely different state of mind. Plus, you may want an entirely different neck/EQ/pick-ups/set up, so having a separate instrument makes more sense to me.
As for myself, I have no use for flats, disliked them back when that’s all there was available, but will put those(and ground wounds)on my fretless to facilitate sliding, although I have no interest in imitating an upright. Rounds, with one of those things fitted on, just wouldn’t work in that case.
