fretless neck help

Would anybody sugest gluing a pre cut sheet of rosewood veneer onto the entire length of a defretted fretboard in lieu of the tradional method of filling in fret marks and sanding?

Assuming that the fretboard is rosewood, use the rosewood veneer edgewise to fill the fret slots.

Martin Petersen (of Sei Bassfame) did this for me when he de-fretted my 5 String Eggle Milan bass. The fret lines are invisible unless you look really closely - which, since I wanted an unlined board, is exactly what I desired
