I got my my custom Stingray a few weeks ago and I feel the same way about my flamed neck. It looks nice for sure, but pretty subtle and nowhere near some of the examples I've seen on their site.

This is good news. I think a lot of the photos/ads/stuff people posted to brag are taken from the optimum flattering angle. The necks look great, but it might be unrealistic for it to look magazine cover gorgeous from every angle.

I keep an eye out for fretless MM's and good lord the prices are insane for used ones. Glad I built one.

My CDE Stingray is still a month away - I too ordered a flamed maple neck - hope it looks as good as this!
