hey!! joe, im not a girl and i want to buy a daisy bass. they are so metal! not only are all bass players friendly, but they are all weird (in our own special ways). i was with my band last night at pizza hut and we figured this out. the bass player in the band before i was wore girl pants and was weird cause he was...and i am weird cause i am random and say random retarted things and make myself look like an idiot and the bassist for the side projectish band some of the guys in my band are in is quite weird, again, in his own special way. it was a great observation we made, and i dont care if im called weird. i look normal (and im hott, but thats a whole 'nother book) and im pretty normal when people arent around. ive also noticed how humble bass players seem to be. all bass players i know are real humble and genuine and nice guys. (i dont know any female bass players) we all like letting other people be the center of attention. its because the bass has always been a background instrument (tho not as much lately) and we are used to others getting the attention. maybe u guys arent like this, but it was just our (my band's) observation that bass players, in general, are nice people. im gonna go write a book.

Welcome. There are some chicks here, but a lot more guys. If you haven't filled out your profile, you should. It really helps when you post questions because people can check out what you have, what your interests are, and then provide better suggestions.
I thought about it real hard and didn't figure out who you are. Maybe I will ask my wifey. She knows a lot of chicks.

Everyone here is nice unless you are a curious teenage boy (which you obviously arent) who asks way too many questions that have been asked here a million times....Oh, and weird people like me who innocently posts odd things like this. (Please don't yell at me!) Anyway, unless you are either a girl, or have a picture under your name, you tend to be ignored and people don't put up with you much. You should be ok though!
(I promise I'll get that 20 bucks in soon guys!)
BTW: Let me take this oppertunity to introduce you to the search bar. If it seems like it might have been discussed at one point (VERY LIKELY) then go ahead and give it a spin.

but also, you can't expect people to NOT treat you like a newbie, when in their eyes you are one, you made a NEW account, started posting a lot, gave no indication that you had ever been a member before...etc.
also, as esoteric as this sounds, it's not about the amount of time you've spent, but the quality of that time, if you know what's up from day 1, you won't be accused of being a newbie nearly as much as if you come in, wet behind the ears posting in wrong forums, being loud, and unruly...etc.
at least, that's how I see it.

I'm glad you see it that way, but there was a distinct difference in the way I was treated when I started this new account from when I was using the old one. People interpret things you type very differently when they have a fixed oppinion on new members.
