From A Shecter to a Warwick.

I have owned a Shecter omen 5 string as my first bass for awhile now and i think its time for a better bass i have been looking at the warwick rockbass corvette basic 5 string I have played the four string at my local guitar center and it felt and played great i loved it. i play jazz, funk, blues, metal, and some country. Is there a really big difference between the german made and the china ones? like a night and day difference? ive also been looking at spector 5 string legends but havent played one. which of these basses do you think is the better bass for an all around genre bass?

Nothing else will do aggressive like the G&L and switching between 34" and 35 " scale is a piece of cake.

I mean no offense, but, I don't think you get it. That inch makes a difference. More than that is the lack of frets. I know that it is frowned upon by some but many like to use that upper register. Warwick or Spector won't do aggressive like G&L? You've got to be kidding.

i found a thumb bolt on 5 string for 975$
any experience with these?
i know they are good but is it an all around bass. i have a solo project and i want that growl kinda like jaco style

A Thumb is a great bass and it definitely growls. but it has pretty much one sound, one great sound that IMO fits many styles but you need to like that sound, if you can maybe try one in a shop to get an idea then try it.

Not to most people.

As do i but i love the sizzle that I get with my 1505 in the upper register much more than my Warwick Infinity SN5 which has 26 frets.

Nope not kidding you at all. Those G&L MFD's are really hot and aggressive.
