From Eden-Carvin?

So, I am trying to get back to a 1 head 1 cab setup.
I see carvin red line 1000 amps around and really want to give it a go.
Right now I am using an Eden Navigator.

I can't try the red line without buying it because there are none around.

My concerns are,
Reliability(from reviews on the net) and sound quality. I leave the eden flat all the time.
I am actually happy with just using a presonus tube pre into my QSC 2402, its just that its hard to carry around, there is no mute or compression.

So, I am just looking for a cheap, clean amp that I can get a little compression and a mute switch on. A tube preamp drive function also makes me happy :)

Any other suggestions than the Carvin R1000?

You may want to try a Carvin B800 or B1500. Plenty of power, fairly warm for a SS amp, reliable, and an incredible value. If you buy new from Carvin, you can try it out for ten days and return it if you don't like it. Used ones pop up here on TB from time to time.

I have both the B800 and B1500. From what I've read the Redline series were not quite up to par.

Check to Carvin store on ebay; sometimes they have a B800 or B1500 on sale......

I used to have a redline, very sterile and thin sounding without eq tweaking. You might not like it if you like the Eden. If you like the bells and whistles, I'd look at the BX1200. Some say it's the warmer sounding of the two carvins, has the drive knob from the B1500 but lots more eq and the reliability issues are supposedly fixed. The graphic eq seems pretty redundant but can be switched on and off via a pedal to change from say a slap sound to fingerstyle. Having 3 sweepable mids would be quite nice. Don't know how good the compressor is.

well, the RL1000 has been discontinued for a while now, so you won't find a new one (perhaps you knew that already...just throwing it out there. Not being an @$$hole...)

From what I've read the BX1200 is a much better sounding amp than the RL1000. I have read that owners of the BX1200 really like it.
The B1500 seems to be just plain overkill unless you're playing arenas and stuff like that. I think it puts out 1900watts into 2 ohms. 1250 into 4 ohms.

But with carvin, there really is only one way to see if you like it. Order one. You have 10 days to play that sucker in all the different ways you can, live, rehearsal, etc. Don't like it, send it back.

i own the bx1200 and the neo 410's . i love the amp and cab . all of the features are excellent ! i love the compressor , and it is a quality american made product ... i went from ampeg to carvin . and like ive said several times " carvin and peavey hire quality employees from companies like ampeg that move production overseas !!! "

DO NOT DROP THE EDEN FOR THE R1000!

Sorry for the all caps attack, but I owned an R1000 and it was pretty feeble. I struggled to get a decent tone out of it, and the rest of my setup was a Modulus Q5 and a Bergantino HT322.

If you want to go Carvin, get the B1500 or the BX1200. Search the amps forum for Carvin B1500. There are alot of positive comments about it. I'm considering one...

Im not replacing the power amp section, I am replacing the navigator....possibly.

It seems I am just going to run the navigator for now. If I can not try something first...I just can't take the risk that I will hate it and take a loss.
