SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

I do this. I buy brand new stuff, keep it for a while (without using it), and then turn around and sell it at a loss. It’s a disease, I guess. My wife just smiles and shakes her head, but I suppose there are worse habits for a 57 year old guy to have, eh? Well, here we have a brand spankin new USA Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass in transparent orange with a rosewood fretboard, a bound and blocked neck, and a Badass III bridge.

The only thing I did when I first got it was install a thumbrest. I bought a really nice thumbrest from a guy who makes them in England. It is pearl white and matches the blocks in the neck perfectly. Since I don’t trust myself drilling holes in high-end basses like this one, I epoxied the thumbrest onto the pickguard, and clipped the two thumbrest screws and epoxied them in the holes. So it looks like the thumbrest is screwed on, but it really isn’t. You can simply swap out the pickguard if you don’t want a thumbrest.

This bass has been kept in my non-smoking home the entire time since I bought it new about a year ago. I played the bass for no more than five minutes total. No joke. It has just sat here in the hard shell case the entire time since I bought it. It still has the same strings on it that came with the bass. It really is brand new, just like it came from the Fender Custom Shop factory. It still has that “new smell” when you open the case. These basses list for $5200 and usually street for around four grand. I would like to get $2350 shipped CONUS, which is waaaaay less than what I paid for it. No trades please. I’m the trustworthy type, with 100% positive feedback on TB, and over 100 feedbacks on the ‘bay, all 100% positive.
