) with high quality construction that serves up killer playability and tone…
I call it my “poor man’s Tony Franklin Fretted…with a Pino influence…
Neck is a shaped down Warmoth Precision Maple Maple 21 frets. Neck measures 1.61 at the nut and feels maybe slightly fuller than todays MIA Precisions, certainly not the baseball bat the way these come from Warmoth. Compaired to my '99 MIA P, it's feels slighly thicker from Fretboard to the back of the neck, if you follow. This does not have the Graphite rods but is steel enforced. Neck was originally painted with Nitro including added vintage tint. Decided after the fact to have the back dulled and then it has been tung oiled. Finish is super super fast. You can see in the pictures where the finish transitions. Neck is totally clean on front and back, no headstock dings.
Body is a MIM ’50 Precision (Alder) body purchased here on Talkbass. Strap buttons came with the body and show a little tarnish. Body was professionally routed for a J pickup in comparable position as on the Tony Franklin basses. I believe that would be considered in the ‘70’s position.
Weight as measured at my friendly FedEx store, is 9.95 lbs and balanced perfectly.

• Pick up’s are Bill Lawrence P-46 and J-45, matched set configured with a 3 way switch: neck, both, bridge.
• Bridge is GOTOH top loader
• Fender “F” neck plate with gasket
• Fender ’62 Tort guard

• Chrome barrel knobs (Volume, tone)
• 3 way blade switch
• Warmoth Standard 21 fret maple/maple Precision neck

Body condition as shown by the high quality pictures, is excellent with 3 blemish areas noted:
• Chip out in the neck pocket on the E string side,
• smaller chip out on the G side. Both clearly illustrated.
• Minor indentation on back. Very minor surface scratches not really photographable
Bass was fully assembled by Mark Cigainero in Ft. Worth Texas. Mark does fantastic work. In the words of a friend of mine that has extensive professional experience, this instrument plays as well as a Fender Custom.
