Is that modded P coming from Mike in Nashville?
The numbers are inconsistent, but I've never seen a ser # in the 30,000's on a Fullerton Bass. That number is more in line with '85-'86.

I buying this Fullerton P-bass next week. The guy who has it says it's a 1982 model but I'm not so sure. Can anyone tell me the year from the pic of the neck plate. Also, are there 2-tone and 3-tone sunbursts that were made during the '82-'83 runs?

It can't be a Fullerton with that serial. 82-84 Fullertons only wore serials V00-V01. When FMIC bought Fender they jumped to V02 and went up from there. No such thing as a V02 or V03 Fullerton. That's a late 80's bass.
The decal placement on the headstock is also FMIC. Fullertons had the decal placed more between the string tree and G string tuner, if you look at the pics of the Fullerton bases you see the decal placement is just like the preCBS decal placements.

And about the 2-tone and 3-tone burst finshes;
the 57RI has the 2-tone, and the 62RI has the 3-tone. That's how it's always been.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone know how to age a new bridge? I plan on putting a Leo Quan Badass II on there and don't want it to look out of place on the bass.

Here are a few shots of my 1982 American Vintage '57, serial number V001738. I got it about eight years ago for $200 with the original hardshell case! It was in this guy's basement for years and he was just looking to dump it. I happened to be in the right place at the right time! Strung with flats this bass has the perfect old-school blues tone. It's also a joy to play.
