Funk Transplant - Alphonse Mouzon

To fill the time during lock down I was working through a box of old cassettes tapes - all pre 1984. They actually sounds OK and I found a live version of a song called Funk Transplant by Alphonse Mouzon on one of them with an amazing bass solo in the middle.

The studio version is on an album called 'Baby Come Back' but I can't find the live version anywhere. I assume I must have taped it from a vinyl LP in the early 80s.

Does anyone know what album it was on and who the bass player would have been?

It wasn't Funk Transplant? He used bassist Welton Gite on a lot of his CDs.

Thanks, two great videos and a whole new thread opening up for me. The live song I have definitely has the core riff for Funk Transplant but I'll start to trawl those You Tube archives and see if I can find it.

There is a Funk Transplant, but it almost has a disco feel, I have a few Mouzon albums but couldn't find it.
In the early 70's Mouzon went the Cobham route and even had Tommy Bolin on his albums, lot's of fusion goodness.
