Funky electrical question....

Hey all,

I bought a cheapie used fog machine for a Halloween party I'm having next weekend. The fogger works well, but I'd like to mod it somewhat, if possible. Stock, it came with a wired remote with a spring loaded switch to activate the fog. Problem is, I'd have to constantly be fiddling with the remote to fog up. Is there any way I could mod the switch to automatically dispense fog? Say, something like a five second blast then a ten second rest, then another five second blast, etc?

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

With a recycle timer . I can buy a programmable relay that has a bunch of different options . You could probably buy a recycle timer ,fixed for that option ,as well . I buy them at my local electronics store ,not radio shack.

You would have a power supply for the relay, then a set of contacts that would take the place of the spring loaded switch. It does just what it says ,recycles the contacts from open to closed rinse and repeat.

Most of the programmable relays I buy have decent wiring and setup instructions . These are smaller than a pack of cigarettes , by 1/2 as much

You have to be very specific when buying these so you get what you want . I am hearing you want contact closed 5 sec, open 10 continued for infinity. I can see it wired so as soon as the relay is powered the contacts recycle as described until the relay is powered off

Something like this would be ideal. The 5/10 second thing was just for descriptive purposes. I'd be happy with any variation.

Thanks!
