I’m a big fan of Herbie Hancock and his style of jazz-funk. Here are some similar artists I’ve found to that style:

Eddie Henderson
Ronnie Laws
Donald Byrd / The Blackbyrds
Bobbi Humphrey
Harvey Mason
Paul Jackson
The Headhunters
Alphonso Johnson
Alphonso Mouzon
Azteca
Grover Washington Jr

And this is more of a jazz-rock type of fusion but I’ve recently been listening to some Casiopea. They’re a phenomenal Japanese fusion band which has got me searching YouTube for more bands like them

Me too! I watched a Netflix doc on Egyptian archeology at Saqqara and the soundtrack made me want to listen to Middle East influenced music so I googled “Oriental Jazz” or something and Casiopea came up. Some good stuff there.
Anymore Japanese fusion? I’ve heard there are a few good bands from Japan.

Yeah they're so good! And its a new style of fusion for me that has been very refreshing. I found this reddit post here that gave me some more suggestions:

Kittyhawk.
One of the first bands to use the Chapman Stick.
I saw this very show on PBS in the early 80's.







Years ago I ordered a Kittyhawk Collection CD off their site.
Much to my surprise the envelope was addressed by Paul Edwards,the Stick player and vocalist himself.

Edit:Not long after I bought my first bass,I see a Chapman Stick on the wall of a local music store in 1980.
It was one of the first series.
It was $600.00 as I remember.
I should have scooped it up,but I had just bought my first bass a few months earlier.
I had no concept of having more than one instrument.

If you are looking for CD's you will not be able to get Caldera "Time and Chance"in a CD.
It was never released.
But "Caldera","Sky Islands"and "Dreamer"are in CD.
