The primary way it communicates is through NPRN. @lokki gave me files that listed the controls, and I created my own overkill editor in MD.

The problem is two-fold: (1) communication is not two way and (2) you can create these sounds, but I don't think you can save them to the pedal? At least, that's how I understand it.

That all sounds like fun ... maybe I can convince @lokki to give me the files too? Pretty please?

I would really love a step by step guide of how to get my reflex to communicate with my FI like that.

Do I need a custom editor like you have or can I do this from the FI editor?

Just the Reflex connected to the FI:

- Set preferred MIDI channel in the FI (page 14 in the Invalid Link Removed)
- Set MIDI channel and CC number (74 for filter cutoff) for a Reflex MIDI out (e.g d1) ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed] page 17-19)

I can make a video later today if necessary.

Page 13 in the manual lists the available CCs. Pitch bend is not a CC though, it's a special MIDI message. It's also not active in the FI unless you play it using MIDI input rather than the analog in.
