The waiting on this starting to kill me. On the plus side, maybe by the time it's released I'll feel better about spending money on it.

Absolutely but it really depends on your gig. No one has made a synth pedal that can emulate PCM sounds. For some of the old 80's stuff, you need those types of sounds. In all my years of playing, I have not been able to exactly recreate the "Bizzarre Love Triangle" bass sound with a synth pedal. One prerequisite of my gig is to sound as close to the record as possible, so I'm forced to play synth bass on keys as well.

If your rich, that Roland V-bass seems to do PCM samples pretty well. Also, if your rich, the Industrial Radio basses eliminate need for keyboard controller with 8ms latency midi out.

For mortals, we must cross our fingers that the new DI happens and sounds boobies.

Edit: pads have always been more immediate for me as synth controllers. You can "tune" them like a bass or mando or however you want them to create MIDI data. Livid Base and Liine Lemur are the most customizable controllers in that respect I have found. I'd still like an Industrial MiDiBass some day, I just feel nastier playing notes on a bass.

Roland V Bass is not an option because I am not altering my Fodera, also the PCM samples on it are not very good; they're just ok..

And as for the the Industrial Radio, 8 ms latency is terrible. How can they even market an item with that much latency??? You can totally feel that when playing. The only way that can possibly be semi acceptable is if you were just doing pads and swells.

i happen to have an industrial radio midi bass and i can assure you the latency is not an issue. it is also not 8ms in every case. it's 5ms with fixed velocity (which i find not bad for a lot of synth bass sounds) and even below if you play the bass with the radio pick. (a metallic pick that senses, when you hit a string) with the pick it's somewhere between 2 and 3ms. and you don't miss a single note. :-) (and i'm not rich)
