Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

Did you do the update via the web browser? Or via the editor?

What exactly do you mean by “isn’t sending messages”? Are you unable to change patches or load a single patch? Are you unable to make parameter changes?

What is showing in the FI’s display?

Please describe what you are trying to do.

Just updated to v3 and it looks promising!

One problem though: the editor isn't sending messages to the pedal :/

Win10, Dell laptop, Behringer UMC204HD interface. I've tried both the 32bit and 64bit versions of the editor.
Strange thing is: I have done the update with success, haven't changed a physical thing and the editor won't send info to the pedal. When I hit File->Save all programs from FI to files it does that correctly.
Midi preferences have the I/O set correctly.

What am I doing wrong?

web browser (chrome) that went just fine.

if I load a program in the editor the pedal does not react. If I change a parameter in the editor, the pedal does not react.
If I save the pedal's programs to the computer that works.

<What is showing in the FI’s display?
the current program number & parameter setting as usual

I hope this is clear?

I presume you have installed v3.00 of the editor software too.

If the program number is still showing in the FI window then the pedal is not communicating with the editor. It should show two horizontal lines when it is communicating correctly.

Make all the connections between the FI and computer then restart the editor. Go into the MIDI PREFERENCES menu and set the in and out as per the instructions in the manual. Remember that “out” in the editor is the output of the editor into the FI. Click “apply” and “ok”. As soon as you tweak an editor command, the FI display should show the horizontal lines.

Make sure the pedal isn’t in bypass too.

Are you using a bass to trigger the FI?

This is somehow nonsense. If saving from the pedal to computer works, that means that communication is working in both directions. Loading a sound or changing a parameter in the editor requires only communication from the computer to the FI, so these are a subset of the previous.

no horizontal lines.
I've just swapped the Behringer UMC204HD for a Steinberg UR242, swapped both midi cables for other cables. And to make sure that I'm not going crazy even tried it with FI midi IN <-> interface midi IN and OUT<->OUT

pedal is on and working.

Yes. Maybe I make a small video?

And the pedal definitely shows 3.00 in the window when you boot it up again?

Yes, a video would help as this is quite perplexing.

Could your USB socket have gone into a sleep mode perhaps?

Logic tells me it should be impossible. I'm making a video now.

I have the exact same symptoms on mac. Updated firmware (web) no probs but cant audition sounds. Went though them though, some great at stuff there just want to tinker with the settings.
Did you read the earlier comments about problems that some Mac users had? They stemmed from not having fully removed an earlier version of the editor. See a few pages back for details.

SOLVED!

My FI is set to respond to midi channel 2 (I have other devices on my pedalboard that are picky about what channel they are on). I reset to receive on ALL and now the editor is speaking to the pedal.

Is this wanted behaviour of the editor or is this a bug?

Anyway: video of how it was is here:

Thanks for the support,
Herwig

Glad you sussed it out.

I did as it happens, I had the same issue with the editor crashing and used the same clean up tool. So now the editor opens but no audition. I will try again. Thanks for the help (and everthing else you have done for the FI community)
Reset the FI’s global midi channel to “all”. That worked for @DeadPoet.

I'll have to remember this too. I have mine set for Ch. 4. I haven't updated my editor to the needed 2.2 yet either, but I've at least downloaded it and should be doing all this in the next few days.
