No, but you can turn off the space-themed background which makes it way easier to read:

How would you have changed it? (That’s not meant in a snippy or sarcastic way, by the way.)

I would have liked a different colour scheme perhaps but honestly, there were way more pressing things to deal with and I got a good sense of that quite quickly after I started helping out. Like most of the people involved, Zsolt was doing this alongside his main work. I’ve seen it from both sides now and I definitely have a much better appreciation for just how much work doing something like this is.

The screen is very well laid out, is logical and almost all parameters are visible at all times which is very useful when programming. And it works very well and is easy and satisfying to use. There are some subtle but significant changes which make it better than it was previously too.

V3 at last! Upgrade went smooth. So glad my custom patches reloaded. So great Panda made sure V3 was compatible. Haven't had time to dig in the new software much yet with time constraints. New patches are much like the original were for me. They showcase what the Fi can do, but not many really useable in practice. No worries, spent 20 mins(thats all I had,damn it!) toying with the flexis..sounds great. Just ordered the new V3 as a backup, and the convenience of not taking my whole board,still my favorite pedal. The editor is fine as is..didn't have a problem with the old one anyway. Congrats to the Panda team!

True its well laid out and logical.
But i don’t like the color scheme and grafics at all. And ofcourse giving the timeline there are other things that are more pressing. And this is a personal preference. But comparing to other editors and softw. Plugins and stuff coming out. This is quite beginner looking. I know functuality comes first but looks can have alot to say about how enjoyable it’s to use the thing.
But like i said, it’s just my personal opinion.

But I did find a COMPLETELY FREE app for Mac called AppCleaner by FreeMacSoft. Works great, easy GUI. I uninstalled the new Editor completely (with AppCleaner) and haven't had a problem since.
I saw back earlier in this thread, someone mentioned the Editor was not working for them on OS Catalina as Catalina(and from now on) is incompatible with 32bit software. The Editor software itself is 64bit, so I wonder if maybe this whole "make sure the previous is completely gone" is the same complication they are experiencing(?).

I hope you’ve already signed up to the patch sharing site; after hearing, loving and downloading a lot of your C4 patches, I’m very keen to hear what you come up with on this.

Holy moly!!! Miss one update.notice on this thread and BANG!!!! so excited to dig in on this! If I cant get my computer running w this I am gonna get a new machine (or would it be weird to bring a bass, FI, bunch of cabling to the library...hmmmm)

Probably answered in the next few pages, but if wasnt asked already, dies anyone know of I need to back up my patches if I have them on my pc before upgrading? I did not make the move via the new editor/website when it was made available due to connection issues, but I have upgraded since the tuner was added.

It’s all in the upgrade instructions on the support page, please read them.

If you have patches already backed up on PC (and you haven’t made edits to those patches via the EDIT and PARAMETER dials on the pedal) then you can simply use the online updater.

That’d work, the editor is a pretty small piece of software and doesn’t require admin access as it doesn’t get installed on the PC as it’s a stand-alone program. It’d probably be fine to run on a library machine.

Online v3 Firmware Updater

If you do not want to or do not need to back up your old v2 files, then you can simply update your firmware and load the new factory soundset using this handy tool (Google Chrome only).

IMPORTANT: If you don’t already have your v2 programs backed up but want to, then, rather than using the online updater, you must instead update to v3 using Invalid Link Removed.


New Online Program Database

The Database is fully functional but still in beta - I will be writing instructions for this over the coming weeks as we refine it. These instructions may get incorporated into the main User Guide or may remain as a stand-alone document.

I've uploaded all the old Talkbass shared patches to the database in the new v3 format (removing the most obvious duplication).
