Hey folks – I’m putting together a bank of Snarky Puppy patches for a project. I’ll be playing bass and kicking in the FI for the synth bass parts (and in places where the bass and synth bass are playing unison, using a patch that blends the dry bass sound). It occurs to me that there are probably pre-existing patches that would do the trick nicely, but there are so many in the community banks that I’m getting “patch fatigue” scrolling through them - any folks got any suggestions for good starting points for:

- What About Me? (bass in drum solo at end)
- Slow Demon (bass)
- Sleeper (bass)
- Shofukan (bass at end)
- Lingus (bass at beginning and end)
- Binky (bass at end)

I’d also be happy to pony up a few dollars for someone willing to program them, or spend a little time tweaking existing ones into performance-ready shape. More than happy to share the bank with the community afterwards. Cheers!

Patch down is there (program decrement, CC67). The others are on the list of suggestions for a subsequent update, along with a few other MIDI commands such as switching the tuner on and off.

Hola my fellow synth bass aficionados! I still haven't upgraded to V3 yet because I am in the process of backing up my patches from my pedal.

It has been stated here before, but in case you missed it, backing up patches from the pedal to the computer only backs up edits you made through the FI computer editor, not edits made on the pedal.

So now I am going through each patch on my pedal and logging each parameter for every patch. I just made up a very simple excel spreadsheet to keep track of my pedal edits. I'm going to attach it here in case anyone would like to download it for your pedal patches. As I said, I kept it real simple. I didn't use the freeze panes function in case someone wanted to print it out so I just copied the menu for each page. It works for me. Here ya go..

If you look at the update instructions I wrote you will see that I already included a table into which users can write their settings as I anticipated this already. Great minds...

Actually, yours is better as it has a space for the patch name too.

See my edit above. Yours is better as it has a space for the patch name too. I didn’t include that as I guessed people might simply dump the all 99 patches back on afterwards, but if they do it for individual files then having the name is a good plan.

Well in full disclosure my original template didn't have a column for names. I literally thought of it at the last minute lol.

As another polite request, could you please post any questions or requests for help with firmware installation, etc. here (as opposed to on the patch share thread). That way, I’m more likely to see it and answer and other users will be more likely to see it and benefit from the answers/solutions. Thanks.

I feel like the mods could use another push on closing that thread. "The patch share no longer exists" is a really good reason, IMO.

Ok so I want to nip this in the butt now just in case this gets discussed further. I've seen this happen in other threads... most recently the Mesa Subway thread. It is what it it is and the admins keep this afloat for all of us to enjoy. We can agree/disagree about closing the thread, rules, etc, but in the end, we need to respect what they decide. Lets just move on and respect the Admin's decision with keeping the patch sharing thread open.

Lets just focus on topic. :)

There’s been a compromise and an admin has kindly agreed to amend the first post with info and a link to the new patch share. Hopefully it’ll work out now.

Wrapping back to this just once more: As I did post, I did in fact use this with success in getting the editor to work. However, when I returned to my computer (powered off and on) hours later that night, the Editor was behaving in the same way, failing to launch. The free trial of cleanmymac had expired. But I did find a COMPLETELY FREE app for Mac called AppCleaner by FreeMacSoft. Works great, easy GUI. I uninstalled the new Editor completely (with AppCleaner) and haven't had a problem since.
I saw back earlier in this thread, someone mentioned the Editor was not working for them on OS Catalina as Catalina(and from now on) is incompatible with 32bit software. The Editor software itself is 64bit, so I wonder if maybe this whole "make sure the previous is completely gone" is the same complication they are experiencing(?).
