Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

There has been the desire that the future impact pedal turns on when you switch on the power supply, especially when you control the FI by a pedal like the Mosquite Blender in connection to the Gecko MKIII. I developed a circuit that switches on the FI device after it ran through all the start routines.

It was my aim not to be connected directly with the FI and not to create problems at the FI side. The trick was so simulate pressing the “on” button by closing the contact of the footswitch by a relay for one second. After that my circuit does anything else.

I am ordering some PCB’s for this application. If there is any interest on your side, please contact me. As more as I can order as cheaper the price.

I certainly don’t want to discourage creativity but @Andras Szalay did say that this feature could potentially be added as a global option if people found it important enough when it was mentioned on the Facebook group.
 
Thank you for your comment. As I do not know when and wether at all Panda will implement it, I decided to develop it. Once Panda should offer it it can be removed in 3 Minutes. Thank you for your advice. Hagen
Whether it gets implemented will depend on how desirable a feature it is for users and how much code space is used by it - the space is precious and there are other features which still need to be implemented. Until then, your solution will work brilliantly.

Can your design be adapted to fit any analogue relay-based bypass switch? If so, is there potential for it to be developed to accept midi messages so that users could use it to switch analogue pedals on and off at will?

I messed around quite a lot with the flexis on these trying to replicate the way the envelope response seems to change when playing harder. I wasn't able to fully model it - the decay response on my Mu-Troon seems almost parabolic in that as you increase playing dynamics the decay starts short, gets a lot longer but then becomes shorter again at the highest dynamic levels. There isn’t a response curve in there that covers this. In beta we did consider having a user customisable curve with points that could be dragged and I’m kind of wishing it had gone in now. I’ve definitely found cases where I would have used it but it’s probably a bit more than most people need.

These patches work best with global note-on level set to 1.
 
@Quatschmacher - is the Worst Decade folder where you put your FM bass patches?
Those are pseudo FM patches as the FI cannot do FM synthesis. The patches in that folder are a few variations of a single idea. I have other patches elsewhere which use the same basic concept (foldover distortion and oscillators 2-4 using non-root intervals). Best to check the clips.

Easiest thing is to sort the page into “recently modified” and download my “complete” folder and just auction all the patches in one sitting via the edit buffer (i.e. press “load”, click on the 1st patch in the list and click the “+” button to advance to the next one) and then later write the ones you like to the pedal.

So in short, yes, they are (sort of) FM patches, but by no means the only ones I’ve uploaded.

I mostly tend to use folders to collect patches which are variations and so will all have the same title but with a numerical suffix to indicate their differences.

The 2 other folders are the ones which collect all of my (free) v2 and v3 patches together.
