Fuzz It Up

I've finally concluded what I want out of a fuzz and have come down to a list of the final 3:

Heavy Electronics Grind Fuzz
Idiotbox Dungeon Master
Dunwich Wizard Fuzz

The Ron Swanson Fuzz is in the back of my mind but I haven't found enough on it bass-wise to put it on my list. I'm essentially looking for something that's just gnarly, not very smooth, but maintains decent note definition. I want it to stand out in the mix. I would say all of those above are somewhat "chunky".

Do you guys have experience with any of those above and can comment on their sound (especially in the mix)?

Not much repetition going on here, asking for opinions on 3 uncommon fuzz pedals that don't get much mention around here.

I've not tried any of those. But if gnarl and note definition are what you seek, the Diabolik is one to check out!

The answers that you will get on this forum will most likely be the same for ANY product. There will be a guy who loves it, several who don't even know it, some who use it differently and then you will choose to believe a combination between all these opinions because you cannot decide for yourself. Or can you? What about you get them pedals, test them and then post a topic about them, including sound samples and all that? That would be great! Everything else is... repetition.

I have a Dunwich Wizard Fuzz.
It is a very unique fuzz that isn't a Muff clone in anyway. It is very mids voiced and pretty articulate as well. It isn't a super loud pedal, nor does it feed back easily. The EQ on it works OK, with the Hi adjustment having a greater impact than the Lo. The Depth knob is a rotary position switch with maybe 12 different positions, each with a different (I believe) diodes for changing the intensity of the clipping\gain. Since I like my fuzz to not consume all of my bass's dynamics I don't go up much past the 9 o'clock position (6 o'clock being the least amount of clipping.) At the highest position it is pretty gnarly.
Something to remember for your board is this pedal is HUGE! It is close to double the length of a standard EHX pedal, so like a Hammond 1590DD, or 7.5" long.
These things also keep their value. New they are $220, used they are usually around $200 IF you can find one.

It doesn't have the choked or sag sound that the Grind Fuzz does, and isn't as scooped as the Dungeon Master can be.
