Fuzz/OD/Distortion pedals that doesn't cut low end

I’m currently playing a lot of muse kind of stuff and I definitely need some dirt pedals. I can’t use those that I have, because in a mix with the drums, keyboards and fuzz factored guitars my low end is totally lost. So what could be my options? So far I’m looking at Catalinbread SFT and Big Spider. And I’m not trying to copy Muse sound in any way. I would appreciate some more suggestions, just to be sure that I’m checking the right stuff, that doesn’t cut the low end, as it’s pretty hard to judge how pedal will sound in the mix by samples

The Big Spider drops lows quite badly. The SFT isn't bad but is better at low gain bluesy overdrive. I agree on the Bass Big Muff, it and the sfx Micro Fuzz hold the lows better than anything else I've used.

The Supercollider by Earthbound Audio holds lows extremely well and sounds awesome.
I'm a big Muse fan and can get a lot of Chris' fuzz tones with this unit, since it's a Muff variant with added awesomeness.. :bassist:

great sample!

I'm checking attack goat on youtube, looks cool!

Thanks!

Like I said, big Attack Goat fan over here. Everything just clicks for me with it - but I think the reason there is such a variety of good pedals out there is that everyone's setup is unique - even people with the same amp and bass don't always sound the same. Some gear just fits with you!

So my suggestion is to try as many pedals as you can! For people like me, who are far away from large, boutique stocking music stores, the TB classifieds are a good resource - I've bought and sold a lot of pedals there and it's given me a chance to try out a lot of great stuff.

I <3 my Attack Goat. Bought it to replace a stolen Battering Ram and havent looked back.

I also had a BBM and for what it does its very good, no loss of low and and in some settings it seems to add some. It was my particular taste but very good.

For OD I've been preaching Pork Loin for almost 2 years now. I've tried at least a dozen and this one is for me.

Thanks!

I agree with you. But for instance I have an old Dr.Scientist Frazz Dazzler, which doesn't have a blend knob. I like the sound, but I can't use it in a band. I bought a newer version, with a blend knob, still it is unusable. I'm just trying to avoid that type of mistakes, as so far my budget is limited :)

Get a blender and nearly every fuzz can have a great amount of low end :)

The MXR Blowtorch can retain the low end perfectly, although it's not a fuzz that everyone digs the sound of.

I say this in every fuzz thread, but the Malekko B:Assmaster is an awesome fuzz pedal. The sensitivity knob can get you anything from barely fuzzed to all-out synthy awesomeness and definitely cuts through a mix. Plus, it doesn't lose any low end.

I'm legally blind.

Really? Does that mean you'll get arrested should you happen to see something anyway?

:D

Seriously, sorry to hear that man. Though it would probably be worse to be deaf, being a musician and all. At least, that's what I'd imagine, but I've never walked a mile in your shoes of course...

Oh, and I get it now.

EDIT: Wait a minute! How do you use this forum being blind? Moderate it, no less? Just curious, if you don't want to talk about it that's fine. I will be forced to assume you have a gnome in a funny hat who reads every post out to you, though.
